SUMMARY:Brahms Requiem
DESCRIPTION:Brattleboro Concert Choir presents the Brahms Requiem\nThe Brattleboro Concert Choir will perform the Brahms Requiem\, an exquisite\, exceptionally moving masterpiece\, at the Latchis Theatre\, in Brattleboro\, on Saturday\, January 14\, at 7:30 p.m.\, and Sunday\, January 15\, at 3 p.m. Tickets are on sale now\, either at the Brattleboro Music Center\, or at bmcvt.org. \n“Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem is a vision of serenity in a world of turmoil. Brahms had a firm belief in the inevitability of justice and an unwavering faith in the power of love. Though the work is entitled ‘A German Requiem\,’ Brahms is quoted as saying that he would have been quite as happy to call it ‘A Human Requiem.’ The music attests to his love of — and faith in — the natural world\, always renewing\, healing\, and evolving\,” wrote Brattleboro Concert Choir Susan Dedell. \nJoining the Brattleboro Concert Choir for these performances are an ensemble of exceptional orchestral musicians and standout soloists. The tickets are $15 for adults\, $10 for students.
