Latchis Arts’ Movies for Kids series continues in February on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m., at the Latchis Theatre, 50 Main St. Admission is by donation.

February’s theme is Musicals. On Sunday, February 26, the series features “The Wizard of Oz,” the beloved 1939 film starring Judy Garland as Dorothy, a Kansas girl who is swept away by a storm to the land of Oz with her dog Toto. Together, they follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City and are joined along the way by the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion. “The Wizard of Oz” was named one of the 10 best films of all time by the American Film Institute in both 1998 and 2007.

Movies for Kids continue in March, featuring the wonderful Japanese animated films by Miyazaki.

All kids, their big people and kids-at-heart are invited to enjoy this wonderful film which will surely shine a little light into our Februaries.
