The Met: Live in HD presents Mozart’s “Idomeneo” transmitted live to the Latchis Theatre, 50 Main St., Brattleboro, on Saturday, March 25, at 1 p.m.

Music Director Emeritus James Levine conducts an extraordinary ensemble in Mozart’s early masterpiece of love and vengeance following the Trojan War. Tenor Matthew Polenzani sings the title role of the King of Crete, with mezzo-soprano Alice Coote in the trouser role of his noble son Idamante, soprano Elza van den Heever as Elettra, and soprano Nadine Sierra as Ilia.

The New York Times praised the production, saying “The Met Opera at its best. A high point of the season.” The Huffington Post extolled it as “a richly rewarding night of opera. Magnificent.”

Running time is 4 hours and 10 minutes, with two intermissions.
