Board of Directors
Janet Wallstein, President
Janet Wallstein has lived in the Brattleboro area for 30-plus years. Retired from Arts Administration and food sales, she has served on many boards, including school boards in Newfane and Townshend, the Brattleboro Music Center, and River Gallery School of Arts.
Angela Snow, Vice President and Interim Treasurer
Maggie Cassidy, Secretary
In June of 2015, Maggie retired after 38 years of teaching French and leading student exchanges at Brattleboro Union High School. Now she teaches French to adults, writes occasional features for the Brattleboro Reformer and commentaries for Vermont Public Radio, serves on the Board of Putney Family Services … and goes to movies and other events at the Latchis. She says that it’s an honor to be a member of the Board of Latchis Arts and to help preserve and promote the Latchis as an anchor for the arts in Windham County.
Jennifer Latham
Jennifer Latham is an award-winning film and television producer. She started her film career in her home state of Vermont on Nora Jacobson’s “My Mother’s Early Lovers,” the beginning of nearly two decades of work in films that go beneath the surface in revealing, honest, and often provocative ways. Her documentary credits include the critically acclaimed “Two Towns of Jasper,” Michael Moore’s “Sicko” and “Capitalism: A Love Story,” the climate series “Years of Living Dangerously” and “The Uncondemned,” releasing in October 2016.
Anne Latchis
Anne Latchis grew up in and around the Latchis Hotel and Theatre, and is an invaluable resource for her historical perspective and small business expertise. She recently joined Brattleboro’s popular Strolling of the Heifers as its General Manager.
Mary Copans
Mary Copans retired after serving as the director of the Brattleboro Nursery School for 30 years. She served on the Brattleboro Town School Board, where she helped to found Early Education Services. She has been a Town Meeting representative for 35 years. She is particularly interested in developing Latchis programming for children and families. She became a member of the Latchis Arts Board because she loved attending so many arts events in such a unique venue.
