Latchis Arts’ popular Movies for Kids series continues in April on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m., at the Latchis Theatre, 50 Main St. Admission is by donation.

This month’s theme is “April is for the Birds,” celebrating our feathered friends. On Sunday, April 23, the series continues with “March of the Penguins,” a 2005 documentary that covers one year in the life of a flock of Emperor penguins – focusing particularly on one couple – and the daunting challenges they face in every life experience, from birth to death, dating to mating, comedy to tragedy.

“This astonishing film, shot in the Antarctic, captures sights never seen before,” wrote David Ansen in Newsweek.

We couldn’t resist wrapping things up with a showing of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds,” obviously for bigger kids, on April 30.
