National Theatre Live simulcast: Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

August 27, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Hailed as “a blistering production” and “intoxicatingly good,” the National Theatre Live in HD simulcast of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” will be presented at the Latchis Theatre, 50 Main St., Brattleboro, on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 4 p.m.

Sonia Friedman Productions presents Imelda Staunton (Gypsy, Vera Drake, the Harry Potter films), Conleth Hill (Game Of Thrones, The Producers), Luke Treadaway (A Street Cat Named Bob, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, The Hollow Crown) and Imogen Poots (A Long Way Down, Jane Eyre) in James Macdonald’s critically acclaimed, 5-star production of Edward Albee’s landmark play.

Edward Albee’s play, first produced in 1962, commences In the early hours of the morning on the campus of an American college. Martha, much to her husband George’s displeasure, has invited the new professor and his wife to their home for some after-party drinks. As the alcohol flows and dawn approaches, the young couple are drawn into George and Martha’s toxic games until the evening reaches its climax in a moment of devastating truth-telling.

General admission is $20, students $10, run time is three hours, with a 15-minute interval between Acts 2 and 3.  Contact Sharry Manning at 802-257-5717 or sjmpr@comcast.net for questions and advance credit card purchases.
