The Great Composers: In Search of Mozart

Latchis Arts’ new film series, The Great Composers, featuring films on the world’s most influential composers, continues with with “In Search of Mozart” on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 15 and 16, at 4 p.m., at the Latchis Theatre.
Developed by Seventh Art Productions, which also produces the popular Exhibition on Screen series, The Great Composers series films are written and directed by Phil Grabsky and narrated by Juliet Stevenson.
“In Search of Mozart” is told through a 2,500-mile journey along every route Mozart followed. This is detective story that takes viewers to the heart of genius. “In Search of Mozart” traces the composer’s life through his music and extensive correspondence. Over 80 works of Mozart’s are featured in chronological order, revealing striking parallels between the music and Mozart’s own life. Throughout, it is the music that takes center stage, with rigorous analysis from scholars, a new, vivid impression of the composer emerges. It dispels the many myths about Mozart’s genius, health, relationships, death and character.
The Great Composers series continues on April 4 and 5 at 4 p.m., by “In Search of Chopin” and “In Search of Haydn” on April 18 and 19, at 4 p.m.
