Latchis Arts’ popular Movies for Kids series continues in April on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m., at the Latchis Theatre, 50 Main St. Admission is by donation.

This month’s theme is “April is for the Birds,” celebrating our feathered friends. On Sunday, April 2, the series gets under way with “Winged Migration,” an extraordinary documentary, which follows various migratory birds on their migratory journeys to an assortment of beautiful countries and places.

Nell Minow of Common Sense Media called it “as pretty and light as a feather in the wind.” Desson Thomson of the Washington Post exclaimed “flight as sheer freedom couldn’t be better demonstrated.”

The series continues on April 9 with “Chicken Run,” followed on April 16 by “Fly Away Home” and “March of the Penguins” on April 23. We couldn’t resist wrapping things up with a showing of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds,” obviously for bigger kids, on April 30.
