Turning Point and the Latchis Theatre invite you to “A Beautiful Journey” – a night of storytelling on Thursday, October 3, at 7 p.m., at the Latchis Theatre in Brattleboro.

Five people in recovery from substance-use disorder will share their personal stories, from the time before they used substances, to the time when substance use consumed their lives, and, finally, to the time when they found recovery through hope and connection with their communities.

This event launches Turning Point’s storytelling series “A Beautiful Journey,” giving community members the chance to hear firsthand from people who experienced the heartache and turmoil substance use can cause. These people who have found recovery will tell us that substance-use disorder is not a choice; it is a brain disease that impacts the lives of too many in our community. At the end of the storytelling, guests who wish to, may stay for a question and answer session.

Doors open at 6p.m., and the event starts promptly at 7 p.m. These stories are authentic and compelling–and inspiring! There is no cost to attend this event, and it’s open to all community members who wish to gain education and understanding, or who just want to hear a great story. Donations received at the event will benefit Turning Point of Windham County.
