The Vermont Symphony Orchestra Made in Vermont tour swings back to the Latchis Theatre, 50 Main St., Brattleboro, on Friday, September 28, at 7:30 p.m.
For this concert, the Made in Vermont orchestra expands to include trumpets and timpani, performing rousing works by Haydn and Brahms. Internationally-renowned violinist Soovin Kim will treat audiences to a Mozart concerto in addition to conducting the ensemble. Again this year, VSO collaborates with the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival, presenting a new film by Robin Starbuck paired with a world premiere by Matthew LaRocca.
The program features: Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 1; the world premiere of Matthew LaRocca’s “How We See Water; Haydn’s Symphony No. 60, “Il Distratto”; and Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 1. LaRocca’s “How We See the Water” will be presented along with a screening of a new film by Robin Starbuck, in collaboration with the Middlebury New Filmmakers’ Festival.
