The Latchis Theatre Cult Classics Movie Series presents Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” on Friday, Dec. 7, at 10:30 p.m.

Despite having presided over a very successful Halloween, Jack Skellington, aka the Pumpkin King, is bored with his job and feels that life in Halloweenland lacks meaning. Then he stumbles upon Christmastown and promptly decides to make the Yuletide his own.

“The Nightmare Before Christmas” carries a 95 percent critics score and a 91% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It features the voice talent of Chris Sarandon, Catherine O’Hara, Danny Elfman and Paul Reubens and a killer musical score. Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times wrote: Part avant garde film, part amusing but morbid fairy tale, it is a delightfully ghoulish holiday musical that displays more inventiveness in its brief 75 minutes than some studios can manage in an entire year.”
